21 Killed as Massive Fire Engulfs Multi-Storey Building in New Delhi

New Delhi (HRNW) – A devastating fire broke out in a multi-storey building in the Indian capital, New Delhi, claiming the lives of 21 people, including foreign nationals, and injuring several others.

According to police, the fire erupted suddenly in a restaurant located within the building on Wednesday and rapidly spread throughout the structure. A large number of people were reportedly present inside at the time of the incident.

Reports indicate that several injured individuals were rescued and shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. The fire occurred in the Malviya Nagar area, where the restaurant and parts of the multi-storey building were extensively damaged.

Police and rescue teams responded to the emergency and successfully brought the blaze under control after intensive firefighting efforts. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

Indian officials stated that, in addition to examining the cause of the incident, the safety and security arrangements of the building are also being reviewed to identify any possible violations or shortcomings.
