Lahore (HRNW)- Opposition member Ejaz Shafi has submitted an adjournment motion in the Punjab Assembly, alleging that the provision of 10 electric buses to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) ahead of the elections amounted to a political bribe.
According to the text of the adjournment motion, during an election campaign meeting in Azad Kashmir, the Chief Minister of Punjab promised to gift 10 electric buses to the people of the region, and the buses were delivered the following day before the elections.
The motion questions whether the cost of the buses was paid personally by the Chief Minister, arguing that the buses were purchased with public funds without the approval of the Punjab Assembly.
The opposition member alleged that the buses were provided to influence voters and increase the ruling party’s vote bank, describing the move as a misuse of provincial resources.
According to the adjournment motion, the matter has raised serious concerns among the people of Punjab, and it requests that the issue be admitted under the rules of the Assembly for debate in the House.
