Lahore (HRNW) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has responded to recent remarks by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), urging the party to stop attributing the public mandate to the state and instead accept the election results.
Maryam Nawaz said the people had once again expressed their strong confidence in the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif by delivering a clear electoral verdict. She stated that rather than attempting to make the election results controversial, the PPP should respect the public’s decision and accept its defeat.
She further said that the language used by the PPP during the election campaign was not only regrettable but also inconsistent with political ethics and democratic norms.
The Punjab Chief Minister emphasized that political parties should demonstrate maturity and responsibility, respect democratic processes, and avoid statements that could further increase political polarization.
