Islamabad (HRNW) – Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has criticized the political situation surrounding the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), alleging that coalition partners in the federal government are competing with one another to take control of the AJK administration.
Speaking on the issue, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the State of Pakistan must decide whether national interest or the interests of a particular political party should take precedence. He claimed that recent developments suggest decisions are being made in favor of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rather than prioritizing the broader national interest.
He stressed that state institutions and decision-makers should place national interest, constitutional principles, and democratic values above partisan political considerations in order to ensure political stability and maintain public confidence.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s remarks come amid ongoing political developments and discussions regarding the future of the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
