PIA Suspends All Passenger Discounts Amid Rising Jet Fuel Costs

Karachi (HRNW)- In view of the high cost of jet fuel and rising expenses, Pakistan International Airlines has taken an important decision and has withdrawn all discounts given to people from different sectors.

According to sources, PIA has decided to withdraw discounts given to students, those who purchased tickets through banks, senior citizens, journalists, retired military personnel and Airports Security Force (ASF) personnel. In this regard, the PIA administration has also informed the staff present at all airports across the country.

Confirming the decision, a PIA spokesperson said that the airline has temporarily withdrawn all types of discounts. According to the spokesperson, this decision will remain in effect until the fuel prices return to normal.

The spokesperson further said that PIA is facing severe pressure in expenses due to high cost of jet fuel, due to which this difficult but inevitable decision had to be taken to reduce the financial burden.

Following this decision, there is concern among passengers from various sectors, while airline officials say that the restoration of discounts may be reconsidered as soon as the situation improves.
