Strategic Strike: Drone Attack Hits Major UAE Oil Depot in Fujairah

FUJAIRAH (HRNW): A significant drone attack has targeted the port of Fujairah, the United Arab Emirates’ largest oil storage hub and one of the most critical refueling stations in the Middle East. According to BBC correspondent Nick Beake, the facility is a vital strategic asset for the UAE, serving as a primary link for global energy supplies.

The port of Fujairah holds immense geographical importance as it is situated on the Gulf of Oman, rather than the Persian Gulf. This allows oil tankers to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, which has remained effectively closed following the outbreak of hostilities between the United States, Israel, and Iran. The ability to export oil without navigating the narrow strait had made Fujairah the region’s most reliable energy exit point.

Footage shared online today shows massive plumes of black smoke rising from the storage complex on the UAE’s eastern coast. The attack follows a specific warning issued by the Iranian Armed Forces on Saturday, advising residents living near UAE ports to evacuate and stay away from maritime facilities. This escalation has sparked immediate concerns regarding the stability of global energy markets and the security of alternative shipping routes in the region.
