KARACHI (HRNW): The Keamari District Police, South Zone, have successfully conducted a targeted operation near the Mochko area, arresting six suspects involved in the illegal transport of smuggled fuel and hazardous goods. According to a press release issued on March 14, 2026, the operation was carried out during a specialized snap-checking exercise aimed at curbing inter-provincial smuggling.
During the raid, police recovered over 2,500 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel and 30 liters of Iranian petrol. In addition to the fuel, authorities seized a truck laden with more than 600 kilograms of hazardous betel nut (Chalia) and Gutka, alongside a significant quantity of foreign dry fruits. The apprehended suspects have been identified as Abdul Bari, Altaf, Junaid, Ayub, Khan Muhammad, and Tariq.
A spokesperson for the Keamari Police stated that the arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation to identify the broader network behind the smuggling ring. Formal legal proceedings have been initiated, and the recovered contraband has been taken into custody. This crackdown is part of an ongoing initiative by the South Zone police to eliminate the trade of smuggled and health-hazardous substances in the metropolitan area.
