Gulf Nations Express Outrage at U.S., Hold Washington Responsible for Regional Escalation

WASHINGTON/DUBAI (HRNW): A bombshell report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reveals that Gulf nations have expressed profound dissatisfaction with the United States, holding Washington directly responsible for the current military escalation in the Middle East. The report highlights a growing diplomatic rift, as regional allies believe American policy has unnecessarily pushed the Middle East to the brink of a full-scale war with Iran.

According to The Wall Street Journal, prior to the onset of current hostilities, General Dan K. McNeill (or referenced military leadership) had explicitly warned President Donald Trump that Iran possessed the capability to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, a move that would paralyze global energy markets. In a characteristic display of bravado, Trump reportedly dismissed the strategic warning, stating that Iran would “surrender before they ever close the Strait of Hormuz.”

The report suggests that Gulf leaders feel sidelined and endangered by Washington’s miscalculation of Iran’s retaliatory capacity. With Iran now issuing direct threats against UAE ports and oil facilities, Gulf officials are increasingly critical of the U.S. administration’s aggressive posturing, which they argue has invited instability into their sovereign territories rather than deterring it. The potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz remains the ultimate “red line” for global commerce, and the current friction suggests that the trust between the U.S. and its traditional Arab allies is reaching an all-time low.
