KARACHI (HRNW): Malir Cantt Police have successfully dismantled an organized criminal gang involved in the trade and dismantling of stolen motorcycles, arresting four suspects based on advanced intelligence and technical surveillance. According to police officials, the gang specialized in purchasing stolen motorbikes from various parts of the city, relocating them to hidden workshops to swap spare parts, and subsequently selling the components to different warehouses and retailers. During the raid, authorities recovered a massive haul of parts, including over 30 sets of motorcycle components, 14 fuel tanks, 57 mudguards, 31 clamps, chain covers, tires, rims, two loader rickshaws, and several stolen chassis.
The police identified the arrested suspects as Murid Hussain, the alleged mastermind of the operation, along with his accomplices Ghulam, Riaz, and Muhammad Sajid. Preliminary investigations reveal that the group operated a sophisticated “chop shop” network that made it difficult for owners to track their stolen vehicles once they were disassembled. A formal case has been registered against the suspects, and a detailed investigation is underway to identify the buyers of these stolen parts and other potential gang members. Police officials have reaffirmed their commitment to continuing aggressive operations against vehicle lifting syndicates to ensure the security of citizens’ property across the metropolitan area.
