Karachi Police Crackdown: Illegal LPG Vendor Arrested in Gulshan-e-Iqbal

KARACHI (HRNW): In a swift move to ensure public safety, the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police (East Zone) arrested a suspect today for operating an illegal mobile LPG vending unit on Rashid Minhas Road. The suspect, identified as Nazim, son of Karim Bakhsh, was caught running a makeshift gas shop from a rickshaw parked along the busy thoroughfare.

The police action was initiated following a routine patrol when officers spotted the hazardous operation. Authorities confiscated five LPG gas cylinders from the suspect’s possession. Police officials noted that such “mobile gas shops” pose a severe risk to the lives and property of citizens, as any minor mishap during decanting or storage could lead to a catastrophic explosion in a densely populated area.

A formal case has been registered against the arrested suspect under relevant laws, and further investigations are underway. The East District Police emphasized that they will continue to crack down on illegal gas decanting and the sale of substandard cylinders to prevent potential fire tragedies in the city.
