Islamabad (HRNW)- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has paid tribute to the Pakistan Navy after naval ship PNS Taimur successfully rescued 19 fishermen stranded in the North Arabian Sea.
In a statement, the Prime Minister said that PNS Taimur safely rescued all 19 crew members, including 11 Pakistanis and 8 Iranian nationals, after their fishing boat became stranded about 120 nautical miles south of Gwadar due to engine failure.
He commended the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy for their professionalism and humanitarian service, saying they provided the stranded fishermen with food, drinking water, and medical assistance while at sea.
The Prime Minister said the successful rescue operation reflects the Pakistan Navy’s commitment and constant readiness to protect human lives at sea.
According to officials, the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Center (JMICC) alerted the Pakistan Navy, which immediately launched the search and rescue mission. After assisting the crew, PNS Taimur safely towed the disabled fishing boat to shore.
