Karachi (HRNW) – Community Policing Karachi (CPK) has expressed concern over delays in the implementation of a public safety project aimed at installing modern CCTV cameras and upgrading the Command and Control Center in Bhains Colony, urging senior police officials to intervene.
According to a statement issued by CPK, on 29 July 2026, a delegation led by CPK Patron-in-Chief Murad Ali Soni, Chairman Aqib Iqbal, social leader Nasir Patel, the CEO of CITS Company, DCFA Pakistan Central President Shakir Umar Gujjar, and members of the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association of Pakistan (DCFA Pakistan) visited Sukhan Police Station.
The delegation brought the necessary wires, cables, and technical equipment required to begin the installation of 100 modern CCTV cameras, along with renovation work for the Command and Control Center and related infrastructure. However, despite waiting at the police station for approximately one and a half hours, the delegation stated that no responsible police officer associated with the project was available to initiate the work.
According to the delegation, the absence of the DSP Sukhan and SHO Sukhan prevented the project’s implementation from moving forward, prompting concern over the delay.
The statement described the initiative as a joint public welfare project involving Community Policing Karachi (CPK), Sindh Police, the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association of Pakistan (DCFA Pakistan), CITS Company, and the traders and farming community of Bhains Colony. The project aims to strengthen crime prevention through modern surveillance systems, improve monitoring of suspicious activities, enhance the safety of residents, traders, and farmers, and provide timely information to law enforcement agencies.
The delegation expressed hope that DIG East Farrukh Lanjar and SSP Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada would take immediate notice of the matter and issue the necessary directions to ensure that the Command and Control Center renovation, cabling work, and CCTV camera installation begin without further delay.
CPK and DCFA Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to working alongside Sindh Police to help make Bhains Colony a safer, better-organized, and crime-free community. They also appealed to dairy farmers, the business community, market associations, civil society organizations, and philanthropists to support the initiative, emphasizing that maintaining law and order is a shared responsibility between the police and the community.
