Khan Younis (HRNW)- Israel has released 60 Palestinian prisoners, who arrived in Khan Younis in southern Gaza through a transfer facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
According to media reports, families gathered at Nasser Hospital to welcome the released detainees following their arrival.
The ICRC said it has facilitated the transfer of more than 2,500 released Palestinians since 2023. However, the organization reiterated that it has not been granted access to Palestinians held in Israeli custody since October 2023 and has not been provided with information regarding their whereabouts or conditions.
Palestinian prisoners’ groups say that more than 9,600 Palestinians are currently being held in Israeli prisons, compared with approximately 5,250 detainees before the start of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.
