State of Emergency Declared at Kuwait International Airport Following Reported Missile and Drone Attack

Kuwait City (HRNW) – A state of emergency has reportedly been declared at Kuwait International Airport following missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran, amid reports of damage to airport facilities and injuries.

According to a statement issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, the country’s air defense system intercepted and destroyed incoming missiles and drones during the night. The ministry stated that the loud explosions heard in the area were the result of air defense operations and that all identified aerial threats were neutralized before reaching their targets.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that emergency measures have been implemented at Kuwait International Airport. According to officials, some airport facilities sustained damage, while a number of individuals were reportedly injured during the incident.

Airport authorities stated that all flight operations have been suspended until further notice as part of heightened security measures. Air traffic is being redirected to alternative airports while officials assess the situation and evaluate the extent of the reported damage.
