Washington (HRNW)- Former US President Donald Trump has strongly criticized Christian religious leader Pope Leo, calling his statements irresponsible.
Trump said that he is not a fan of Pope Leo because he is “too liberal.” According to him, the Pope’s behavior is worrying in that he does not take a strong stance on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
The former US president alleged that Pope Leo is not concerned that Iran could become a threat to global security by acquiring nuclear power.
A new debate has started in religious and political circles after Trump’s statement, but there was no immediate response from the Vatican or Pope Leo.
