Karachi, Pakistan (HRNW)- A grave violation of building codes has been reported at Plot SA-3 in Scheme 36, where the illegal construction of an eighth floor and a mezzanine is underway in defiance of the approved building plan. This unauthorized expansion has sparked widespread panic among local residents, who fear a structural collapse.
According to investigative sources, the project is allegedly utilizing substandard materials, and the complete lack of safety protocols poses an immediate threat of a major disaster. Citizens have voiced their concerns, urging the Sindh Minister for Local Government and the Director General of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to take immediate notice before lives are lost.
Serious allegations of systemic corruption have also surfaced. Sources claim that Deputy Director Najmuddin Qureshi is patronizing the illegal construction and allegedly providing 25 lakh PKR weekly to Assistant Director Asif Sheikh to prevent any enforcement action. This alleged bribery has effectively halted all regulatory oversight. Affected citizens are demanding that the illegal floors be sealed immediately and that strict legal action be initiated against the officials and builders involved in this life-threatening malpractice.
