Sindh Government Weighs “Smart Lockdown” Over Regional Fuel and Security Crisis

SUKKUR (HRNW): Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has announced that the Sindh Government is actively considering the imposition of a “smart lockdown” in response to the volatile regional security and energy situation. Speaking to media personnel in Sukkur, the minister stated that high-level evaluation meetings are being held on a daily basis to continuously monitor the unfolding situation.

He emphasized that the current regional circumstances are far from normal, warning that if the conflict in the Middle East prolongs, everyone will face severe economic difficulties. To preemptively manage the crisis, the provincial government has already slashed the fuel quota for official government vehicles by 60 percent.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah asserted that immediate and effective measures to conserve fuel are indispensable. He noted that crucial decisions regarding the reduction of energy consumption and the prudent use of state resources are being finalized, appealing to the general public to cooperate with the government during this challenging period.
