Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran is “very close to surrender” in the ongoing war, though he did not announce a final deadline to end the conflict, according to media reports.
Speaking during a virtual meeting with G7 leaders, Trump said the Iranian leadership is under intense pressure and that there are very few senior officials remaining who could formally announce surrender.
He stated that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is gradually improving and suggested that commercial shipping should resume operations through this vital route. Trump also assured participants that, if necessary, the United States would provide security for commercial vessels and oil tankers passing through the strait.
Meanwhile, G7 leaders reportedly urged President Trump to bring an end to the war and emphasized that stability in the Strait of Hormuz is essential, as disruptions are affecting global oil supplies.
