Malala Yousafzai’s Portrait Unveiled at Oxford University’s Lady Margaret Hall

London (HRNW)- A portrait of Malala Yousafzai has been displayed at Oxford University’s Lady Margaret Hall. Nobel laureate Pakistani Malala Yousafzai has received another prestigious honor. After Benazir Bhutto, a portrait of Malala Yousafzai was also displayed at Oxford University.

A special ceremony was organized to install Malala’s portrait in Lady Margaret Hall. Malala Yousafzai said that the Taliban are depriving girls and women of their rights.

She said that the Taliban’s prevention of girls from pursuing education is also against the message of Islam, all countries should come forward on the basis of human rights and put pressure on the Taliban, all countries should not have normal relations with the Taliban.

It should be remembered that Malala Yousafzai studied philosophy, politics and economics from LMH and graduated in 2020. She is a world-renowned activist for girls’ education. In 2014, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, becoming the youngest person to receive the award, for her work promoting girls’ right to education.

Malala was also elected an Honorary Fellow of LMH (Lady Margaret Hall) in 2024. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Oxford Pakistan Programme, which promotes academic links between Oxford and Pakistan and provides scholarships to Pakistani and British Pakistani students to study at the University of Oxford.

London-based portrait painter Isabella Watling said on the occasion, “It was a great honour for me to paint Malala’s portrait. I tried to portray her strength and dignity in the image. It was extraordinarily challenging to capture the face of this famous figure.”

Malala Yousafzai said, “I am grateful to LMH for commissioning this portrait. I accept this honour with the hope that it will help open doors for many others. Above all, I hope that it will be a reminder that a girl from the Swat Valley has her place here, and the next girl, whether from a village in Pakistan, from Afghanistan or anywhere else, has her place here too.”
