Karachi (HRNW)- Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan admitted shortcomings in the prosecution system while speaking informally at the Sindh High Court regarding high-profile criminal cases, including the Pinky case.
During an interaction with journalists, Azad Khan was asked why punishments were not being carried out in such sensitive and high-profile cases. Responding to the question, he acknowledged that there are issues within the prosecution system but said efforts are underway to improve the situation.
He maintained that there was no gap in the police investigation related to Pinky’s cases and added that if others were making different claims, it should not immediately be considered a lapse. According to him, the actual facts will become clear once the matter proceeds in court.
Azad Khan further said that the investigation is still ongoing and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage. He also clarified that he had come to the Sindh High Court to attend a routine meeting regarding the security arrangements for the court and judges.
