PM Shehbaz Sharif Holds Telephonic Talks with Iranian President, Welcomes Ceasefire

Islamabad (HRNW)- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important telephonic conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, during which both leaders discussed key regional developments and the recent ceasefire.

According to reports, the conversation took place in a pleasant and cordial atmosphere and lasted for more than 45 minutes.

Sources said that during the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Iranian President on the ceasefire and also discussed the formal beginning of negotiations between the concerned parties.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister appreciated the wisdom and foresight of the Iranian leadership for showing willingness toward peace and a ceasefire. He also discussed the upcoming talks between Iran and the United States expected to take place in Islamabad this week.

The Prime Minister further praised and thanked the Iranian leadership for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, while also expressing his respect for Iran’s Supreme Leader.

President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and appreciated the Pakistani leadership’s efforts in facilitating the temporary Iran-US ceasefire. He conveyed his best wishes to the people of Pakistan and confirmed that Iran will participate in the talks in Islamabad.

At the conclusion of the conversation, both leaders agreed to remain in close contact regarding future diplomatic developments.
