Karachi (HRNW)– Lawyer Barrister Ali Tahir has challenged the 27th Constitutional Amendment in the Federal Sharia Court. The petition states that the amendment is against Islamic principles such as independence and accountability of the judiciary, while the lifelong immunity of the President and Field Marshals has been declared un-Islamic. The petition seeks to nullify several provisions of the amendment.
