Karachi, Pakistan (HRNW)- The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken notice of a video circulating on social media and issued a detailed clarification regarding its context. According to an FIA spokesperson, the viral footage pertains to an incident at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, in 2025, where immigration officials successfully intercepted an organized attempt to smuggle a minor.
Providing details of the case, the spokesperson clarified that a female passenger, Kiran Sohail, was attempting to travel to Mozambique accompanied by her family. During the immigration clearance process, significant discrepancies were discovered in their travel documents. Further technical and biological verification revealed that one of the minor children traveling with the group was not biologically related to the woman. It was uncovered that the child had been illegally handed over to the passenger shortly before departure.
The investigation confirmed a sophisticated child smuggling plot involving multiple individuals and forged documentation. FIA Immigration acted swiftly to offload the passengers and referred the case to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Karachi for further legal proceedings. The spokesperson urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information on social media. The FIA remains steadfast in its mission to eliminate human trafficking and protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
