Tezgam Express Narrowly Escapes Disaster Near Sarhari Station After Axle Break

KARACHI (HRNW): The 7 Up Tezgam Express, en route from Karachi to Punjab, narrowly avoided a catastrophic accident today near Sarhari Railway Station in Sindh. According to railway officials, a major disaster was averted when the train was brought to an immediate halt after an axle on one of its bogies broke while in motion.

The breakdown occurred at a critical stretch near the station, causing immediate panic among hundreds of passengers on board. Railway authorities acted swiftly to stop the train at Sarhari Station to prevent a potential derailment. Despite the immediate stop, passengers have expressed significant distress and frustration, reporting that a technical team from the railway administration had not yet arrived at the scene to assess the damage or begin repairs hours after the incident.

Railway officials have since issued instructions to move passengers to safer locations and have stated that a comprehensive investigation into the mechanical failure will be conducted. The affected bogie is slated for repair or replacement before the train is cleared to resume its journey to avoid any further risks to passenger safety. This incident follows a series of recent concerns regarding the maintenance of rolling stock on the Karachi-Lahore main line.
