Governor’s Appointment is PML-N’s Decision, Sindh Government Will Cooperate: Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI (HRNW): Sindh Information and Broadcasting Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon clarified today that the decision to replace the Governor of Sindh was an internal matter of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and did not involve any intervention from the Sindh government. Speaking to the media at the Expo Centre, Memon stated that the governorship was always designated for the PML-N under political arrangements, and he extended a warm welcome to the newly sworn-in Governor, Nehal Hashmi. He emphasized that the provincial government maintains no personal or political differences with the appointment and expects the new Governor to fulfill his constitutional role effectively as a bridge between the federation and the province.

Beyond political developments, the Minister highlighted the provincial government’s relief efforts for the victims of the Gul Plaza fire. In collaboration with the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), over 500 stalls have been established at the Expo Centre to help affected traders resume their business activities. Memon reassured the merchant community that the Sindh government considers the welfare of every citizen its primary responsibility, promising that the fire victims would be back in their permanent shops by the next Eid. He concluded by warning against those attempting to play “worst-kind of politics” over tragedies, reaffirming that the provincial administration stands firmly with the business community during these challenging times.
