PML-N’s Nehal Hashmi Sworn In as 35th Governor of Sindh

KARACHI (HRNW): Senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Nehal Hashmi, officially took the oath of office as the 35th Governor of Sindh today, March 13, 2026. The prestigious swearing-in ceremony was held at the Governor House in Karachi, where Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, administered the oath. Hashmi succeeds Kamran Tessori following a sudden shift in the federal government’s regional administrative strategy.

The ceremony was attended by a wide array of high-ranking political figures and state officials, reflecting a rare moment of provincial cross-party presence. Among those in attendance were Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Ministers Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjhar, Nasir Hussain Shah, and Zulfiqar Shah. Representing the local government and the PML-N leadership were Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, PML-N Sindh President Bashir Memon, Ali Akbar Gujjar, and several other prominent party workers and local leaders.

During the event, attendees extended their congratulations to the new Governor, offering prayers for his success in the constitutional role.
