IATA Begins International Safety and Operational Audit of PIA

Islamabad (HRNW) – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has commenced an international operational and safety audit of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), a key assessment that will evaluate the airline’s compliance with global aviation safety standards.

According to details, the audit will take place from June 8 to June 11 and is being conducted under IATA’s risk-based audit framework. The review will focus on the implementation, effectiveness and operation of PIA’s Safety Management System (SMS) as well as other critical operational areas.

Sources said that the IATA audit team will thoroughly examine various departments and operational functions of the national carrier to assess adherence to international safety requirements and best practices.

Officials stated that the audit’s findings will play an important role in determining PIA’s standing and global ranking regarding aviation safety and operational performance.

The PIA administration has reportedly completed all necessary preparations for the international review and is working closely with auditors throughout the inspection process.

Industry observers note that successful compliance with IATA safety standards can enhance an airline’s international reputation, strengthen passenger confidence and support broader efforts to improve operational excellence.
