Islamabad (HRNW) – The federal government has proposed allocating Rs1.5 billion in the budget for the next fiscal year to expand residential facilities for members of parliament and their families.
According to a private television report, official documents reveal that the development project includes the expansion of Parliament Lodges and the construction of additional residential units in Sector G-52, Islamabad.
The project’s key component is the construction of additional family suites for parliamentarians. In addition, approximately 500 servant quarters are planned to be built to better accommodate the residential needs of lawmakers and their support staff.
Sources stated that the initiative aims to address housing shortages at Parliament Lodges and improve facilities available to members of parliament. However, the proposal is subject to final approval during the upcoming budget session.
The development plan is expected to be reviewed and debated as part of the federal budget process before any funds are officially allocated.
