KARACHI (HRNW): Taking stern notice of alleged corruption, nepotism, and irregularities in the establishment and shifting of examination centers, the Sindh government has ordered a high-level probe into the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK). Following the directives of the Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, a fact-finding inquiry committee has been formally established.
Committee Structure and Timeline

Convener: Special Secretary, Department of Universities and Boards.

Members: Chairman of the Technical Board and the Additional Secretary (Boards).

Deadline: The committee has been mandated to complete its investigation and submit a detailed report to the Provincial Minister within 15 days.
Terms of Reference (ToRs)
Minister Muhammad Ismail Rahoo stated that the committee will thoroughly investigate the following aspects:

Reasons for Center Shifting: Identifying the motives behind changing examination centers just before or during the exams.

Illegal Influence: Determining whether financial gains, nepotism, or illegal political pressure influenced the allocation of centers.

Abuse of Power: Investigating allegations of collusion, administrative irregularities, and misuse of authority by board officials.

Identification of Culprits: The committee is tasked with identifying the specific officers and employees involved in these malpractices.

Muhammad Ismail Rahoo emphasized that transparency in the educational system is non-negotiable. He warned that any officer or staff member found guilty in the inquiry report will face strict disciplinary and legal action to ensure such incidents do not recur.
