Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman Welcomes Iran-US Ceasefire, Urges Stronger Regional Cooperation

Islamabad (HRNW)- An important video statement by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has surfaced regarding the US-Iran ceasefire, in which he welcomed the temporary truce and highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic role.

In his statement, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said, “We salute the determination of the Iranian nation on the temporary ceasefire,” and added that the government played an important role in reducing tensions, for which the entire Pakistani nation deserves congratulations.

He stated that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts helped normalize the ongoing tension in the Gulf region and described it as a major success. He also criticized US policy, saying that America is acting as a puppet of Israel, while claiming that people of conscience around the world oppose what he termed American terrorism.

The Jamaat-e-Islami chief emphasized that Pakistan’s role has become highly important in the current regional environment. He urged Pakistan to maintain stable relations with all countries and to expand mutual trade cooperation, including restarting the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman further called for free trade with Gulf countries and Iran to help meet Pakistan’s gas and petroleum needs. He also suggested that Turkey and Iran be included in the Pak-Saudi defense framework, with Gulf countries participating voluntarily.

He added that recent developments have shown that the United States cannot guarantee protection for Gulf states, and called for the formation of a broader regional bloc with China and Russia for peace and security. He also condemned the continuation of Israeli actions in Lebanon despite the ceasefire announcement.
