The senior officer had been battling for his life at Liaquat National Hospital for several months after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds during a high-profile operation.

The incident occurred during a raid conducted by the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and the CPLC at the residence of Armaghan Qureshi, the prime suspect in the abduction and murder of 23-year-old Mustafa Amir. During the four-hour standoff at the suspect’s bungalow in DHA, Armaghan opened fire on the police team with modern weaponry, critically injuring DSP Zulfiqar and Constable Muhammad Iqbal.
