LAHORE (HRNW): Mian Muhammad Mansha, Chairman of the Nishat Group, visited the Pakistan Railways Headquarters in Lahore today to meet with Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi. The high-level meeting focused on restructuring the department through international best practices and enhancing private sector participation via Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
During the session, Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi briefed Mian Mansha on ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects, freight service upgrades, and commercial ventures designed to achieve financial autonomy for the institution. The Minister emphasized that, in line with the Prime Minister’s directives, Pakistan Railways is being modernized to create viable investment opportunities. Mian Mansha was also given a tour of the newly established Conference and Monitoring Room, as well as the Business Facilitation Center, a one-window facility recently launched to assist investors and freight customers.
Commending the Federal Minister’s leadership, Mian Mansha stated that now is the opportune time for the business community to invest in Pakistan Railways. He announced the Nishat Group’s intent to invest in various railway projects, noting that such collaborations would significantly boost national revenue and strengthen the economy. Both leaders concluded the meeting with a mutual commitment to fostering a modern, investor-friendly national rail network that serves as a backbone for Pakistan’s commercial growth.
