KARACHI, (HRNW) – In a major operation, Customs Enforcement, Karachi successfully intercepted a bus carrying a large quantity of smuggled goods during the night of 28 February to 1 March 2026.
According to sources, the operation was based on verified intelligence indicating that a bus registered under DG-945 was attempting to transport sugar, inverters, and cosmetics illegally.
At approximately 5:25 AM, the customs team stopped the bus near Ghani Chowrangi for a thorough inspection. The investigation revealed that the goods had been cleverly hidden in secret compartments within the vehicle.
The seized items include:
- Sugar: 3,300 kilograms
- Inverters: 154 units
- Dove Soap: 36 cartons
- Shaving Blades: 100,000 units
- Body Spray: 130 units
The total value of the confiscated goods is estimated at approximately PKR 40 million.
The seized goods and the bus have been taken into custody under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969.
Customs Enforcement Karachi stated that this operation highlights its ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and protect the national economy.
