RAWALPINDI (HRNW): A recent interview given by the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, to Al Jazeera is spreading rapidly across social media. During the sit-down, the military spokesperson addressed rising regional anxieties with a firm stance on Pakistan’s national defense and strategic deterrence.
When asked by Al Jazeera about the possibility of Pakistan becoming the next target following the military operations in Iran, the DG ISPR dismissed any notion of concern within Pakistan’s military leadership, highlighting the unique status of the country’s defense. He stated:
“There is no concern within Pakistan’s military institutions regarding whether we are a target or not, because there is a fundamental difference between Pakistan and other nations: we are a recognized nuclear power. The world has never experienced the consequences of testing a nuclear-armed state. If such an event were to occur, things would happen on this planet that no one has even dared to imagine.”
The DG ISPR further warned that the repercussions of such a confrontation would be beyond what the world could endure. Reiterating his previous stance, he emphasized that attempting to collide with a nuclear power would be a “massive blunder” and an “unthinkable act.” His comments come at a time of peak regional volatility, signaling that Pakistan remains on high alert and confident in its “Full Spectrum Deterrence” capabilities.
