Sindh Government Gear Up for Four-Day Thar Jeep Rally in March 2026

KARACHI (HRNW): Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming Thar Jeep Rally scheduled for next month. A high-level meeting was held between the Sindh Government and the Motor Association to finalize the arrangements. The session was chaired by Secretary Sports Sindh, Munawar Ali Mahesar, and attended by Additional Secretary Asad Ishaq, Motor Association representatives Syed Zaheer Hussain Shah and Rehan Qureshi, DSO Wash Dev Malhi, and Section Officer Ali Dino Gopang.

During the meeting, officials were briefed on the Thar Jeep Race and Motorbike Race, alongside traditional horse and camel races and musical festivities. Munawar Ali Mahesar emphasized that this year’s rally will integrate local cultural programs to promote tourism in the region and strengthen the local economy.

Event Schedule: March 26 – March 29, 2026

The four-day festival is structured as follows:

  • March 26: Vehicle registration and technical inspections.

  • March 27: Qualifying rounds for both Production and Professional classes.

  • March 28: Main race for the Production class.

  • March 29: Main race for the Professional class, followed by the grand closing ceremony.

The Secretary of Sports reiterated that the Sindh Government remains committed to organizing major sporting events for the youth. Provincial Sports Minister Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar is expected to attend as the Chief Guest, alongside prominent figures including Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Syed Zulfiqar Shah, and veteran racer Nadir Magsi.
