Karachi (HRNW) — Under the leadership of Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the MQM Pakistan central committee convened at Bahadurabad center to discuss the current political situation at both federal and provincial levels.
Senior leaders Mustafa Kamal, Dr. Farooq Sattar, Anees Qaimkhani, and Ameen-ul-Haq attended the meeting, along with Faisal Sabzwari, Rizwan Baber, Kahf Alwari, and Furqan Atib.
The meeting addressed:
- The political situation in the federation and province
- Special financial assistance for families of martyrs, imprisoned, and missing workers during Ramadan
- Public safety, municipal issues, and electricity and gas load-shedding in the city
In a press conference, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui strongly criticized the recent resolution passed in the Sindh Assembly, describing it as against the Constitution of Pakistan. He stated that:
- The slogan “Udhar Hum, Idhar Tum” used by the PPP represents an attempt to divide Pakistan.
- Any idea of “Sindhudesh” will remain just a dream while MQM Pakistan exists.
- Sindh is Pakistan’s most multilingual province, and the unfair treatment of urban areas over the past 50 years is unprecedented.
- Sindh is Pakistan’s richest province, yet poverty is rising, according to the Planning Commission report.
Dr. Siddiqui emphasized that:
- Peaceful struggle and protest are guaranteed under the Constitution.
- The PPP resolution is a conspiracy against Pakistan’s unity.
- Karachi’s division into seven districts and the government’s failure to implement Supreme Court orders violate constitutional mandates.
- MQM Pakistan will take a petition regarding contempt of court back to the judiciary.
