PTA Mandates All SIMs to Be Registered in Users’ Own Names

Islamabad, Pakistan (HRNW)- The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that it is now mandatory for all SIM cards to be registered in the name of the user.

In an official statement, the PTA emphasized that using a SIM card registered under someone else’s name is a violation of the law, and the registered user will bear full responsibility for any misuse.

The authority further clarified that users are fully responsible for the usage of their SIMs and telecom connections, and must comply with regulations regarding calls, messages, and data usage. Violations may result in legal action under the law.
