Karachi (HRNW) — Updated reports from Summer Park Apartments above UBL Bank in North Nazimabad confirm the situation following a gas cylinder explosion.
Rescue officials stated that the fire brigade has brought the fire under control. Initial reports indicate that multiple people were injured and were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported.
The explosion completely destroyed the affected apartment, while the adjacent building sustained partial damage. Bomb disposal teams and relevant authorities have inspected the site and preliminarily determined the incident to be caused by a gas leakage.
Electricity and gas supply to the area were temporarily suspended but are now being restored in phases.
Further investigations are ongoing, and authorities have urged residents to avoid entering the affected area.
