Karachi Traffic Police Launch Joint Snap-Checking Campaign

KARACHI (HRNW): A joint snap-checking campaign by the Karachi Traffic Police is currently underway, with active participation from the Traffic Police, District Police, and the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC).

Action Against Illegal Number Plates

The campaign focuses on vehicles with missing number plates, hidden plates, or those using illegal/fancy plates. During the operation:

  • Numerous cars and motorcycles have been issued heavy fines.

  • Non-compliant vehicles were impounded and shifted to respective police stations.

  • Return Policy: Impounded vehicles will only be returned to their owners once standard, regulation-compliant number plates are properly installed.

On-the-Spot Licensing Services

To facilitate the public and encourage legal compliance, the authorities have also set up facilities for the on-the-spot issuance of Learning Driving Licenses during the checking process.

Public Advisory

Traffic authorities have urged all citizens to strictly adhere to traffic laws and ensure their vehicles display clear and authentic number plates. Failure to comply will result in immediate legal action as per the law.
