KARACHI (HRNW): The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Karachi has conducted a major operation, arresting illegal Afghan residents and a NADRA official involved in facilitating them. According to an FIA spokesperson, the raids were carried out in different parts of the city based on intelligence reports.
Operational Details and Arrests
The FIA spokesperson detailed the coordinated actions in a press release:

First Raid (Metrovill/Orangi): A raid in the Metrovill area of SITE, Orangi, led to the arrest of two Afghan nationals, identified as Habibullah and Niamatullah. Illegal Pakistani identity documents were recovered from their possession.

Involvement of NADRA Official: Initial investigations revealed that a NADRA officer was instrumental in approving these fraudulent documents.

Second Raid (Nursery): Following the lead, the FIA conducted a second raid in the Nursery area, resulting in the arrest of NADRA Assistant Superintendent Furqan Ahmed Khan Durrani. The officer is accused of illegally approving the CNICs for the foreign nationals.

Case Registration: The FIA has registered Case No. 122/2026 against the accused.

Legal Sections: Action is being taken under the Foreigners Act 1946 and the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) 1947.

Physical Remand: The court has granted a three-day physical remand of the arrested suspects to allow for further interrogation and expansion of the investigation.
The FIA stated that the investigation is ongoing, and further raids are being conducted to apprehend other individuals and officials involved in this network to ensure national security and eliminate corruption within administrative departments.
