Karachi (HRNW)- The Commissioner of Karachi has announced a complete two-month ban on dumping garbage, debris, or any waste into city drains, with Section 144 being enforced to ensure compliance.
According to the Commissioner, the ban will be in effect from 22 January to 22 March. Police will register cases against violators, and SHO’s will be responsible for enforcement.
The Commissioner clarified that the ban applies to all citizens, waste collectors, and anyone disposing of garbage in drains.
He highlighted that dumping waste in drains poses serious environmental risks and causes blockages during the monsoon season.
The measure aims to keep Karachi’s drains clean and reduce environmental pollution.
