Punjab Govt Announces Outsourcing of 2,735 Government Schools to Private Sector

Lahore (HRNW)- The Punjab government has decided to make a major change in the government education system of the province and announced the outsourcing of government schools.

According to the spokesperson of the School Education Foundation Department, under this decision, government schools across the province will be handed over to the private sector, for which applications have been formally invited from private institutions and individuals.

The spokesperson said that another 2,735 government schools in different districts will be run by private individuals or institutions, while the relevant government institutions will continue to monitor and review the performance of these schools.

The School Education Foundation Department says that the aim of this move is to improve the quality of education, provide better facilities to students and improve administrative matters.

According to officials, transparency will be ensured in the privatization process of schools and the interests of teachers and students will be protected. Different opinions are being expressed by educational circles and parents on this decision, while the government maintains that this move is an important step towards reforms in the education sector.
