Mayor Murtaza Wahab Criticizes Road Blockades as Harmful to Citizens

Karachi – Pakistan (HRNW)- Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has condemned recent road blockades in the city, stating that such actions only inconvenience local residents and do not resolve the underlying issues.

Speaking to the media, Mayor Wahab remarked, “Blocking roads will only cause suffering for the people of Karachi. The streets are not anyone’s personal property. If you wish to protest, do it at your office — we will act, and then you’ll cry crocodile tears.”

He further criticized political figures who attempt to influence city governance, saying, “Mayoral powers are not inherited from your father. It’s embarrassing to put up placards over our work and demand resignations.”

Addressing ongoing civic issues, the mayor added that some individuals have fled to other cities, highlighting the need for practical governance rather than symbolic actions: “Installing a manhole cover isn’t the issue — maintaining it is.”
