Pakistan Rejects Indian Defence Minister’s Remarks, Warns Any Aggression Will Be Met With a Befitting Response

Islamabad (HRNW)- Pakistan has strongly rejected the recent statement of the Indian Defence Minister, describing it as highly provocative, irresponsible, and a threat to regional peace, and warned that any aggression would receive a befitting response.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said the Indian Defence Minister’s remarks not only distort the reality of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, which remains an internationally recognized issue on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council, but also reflect what it described as India’s continued policy of endangering regional and global peace and security.

The statement said such remarks are intended to divert international attention from the situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, allegations of India’s sponsorship of terrorism in the region, and its internal challenges.

The Foreign Office stated that instead of resorting to aggressive rhetoric and threats, India should recognize the ground realities and remember that the government, people, and armed forces of Pakistan possess the full capability and determination to respond effectively to any possible military adventurism.

Referring to last year’s Operation “Bunyan-un-Marsoos”, the statement said Pakistan has already demonstrated its resolve and capability to defend its sovereignty.

Pakistan also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take notice of what it described as India’s continued irresponsible conduct and to hold it accountable for failing to implement the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The statement further emphasized that the international community has a responsibility to ensure the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
