Karachi (HRNW) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the Sindh Assembly Sajjad Ali Soomro conducted an emergency visit to Bahar Colony (UC-2) and Agra Taj Colony (UC-1) in his constituency, PS-106 Lyari, where local residents voiced concerns over the lack of basic civic facilities.
During the visit, residents highlighted issues including deteriorating roads, a damaged sewerage system, gas shortages, prolonged electricity load-shedding, limited access to clean drinking water, and inadequate educational facilities. They alleged that these longstanding problems have significantly affected daily life in the area.
Sajjad Ali Soomro said he would continue to represent the concerns of Lyari’s residents and raise these issues in the Sindh Assembly and other relevant forums, emphasizing that citizens deserve practical solutions rather than promises.
The visit also included criticism from residents regarding the Lyari Transformation Program. According to local residents, ongoing excavation work on Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Road has resulted in dust, traffic congestion, and disruptions to businesses and daily commuting. They expressed concern over delays in completing the project and the absence of adequate alternative routes.
Residents called on the authorities to complete development projects promptly, transparently, and to an acceptable standard, while ensuring that the people of Lyari receive the basic public services they require.
