Karachi (HRNW) – Karachi Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad has strongly criticized former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s recent remarks, describing them as an example of “political hypocrisy” and questioning the performance of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
In a statement issued on 25 July 2026, Murad said that all three government medical colleges in Azad Jammu and Kashmir were established during Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) governments. He also claimed that all five public universities in Azad Kashmir were built under the PPP and challenged the PML-N to present its own record of public service.
Murad alleged that the PML-N has relied on promises rather than performance, arguing that the party often presents ambitious development plans during election campaigns but fails to fulfill them after assuming office.
He further stated that instead of criticizing PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Nawaz Sharif should first evaluate his own political record. Murad also accused the PML-N of weakening public institutions during its periods in power and later pursuing privatization or outsourcing policies.
The Deputy Mayor concluded by saying that the public now judges political parties based on their practical performance rather than slogans or campaign rhetoric.
