Karachi (HRNW) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has conducted an operation at the Saddar Passport Office in Karachi, arresting six individuals, including two passport office officials and four agents, for their alleged involvement in bribery.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the arrested suspects were allegedly receiving Rs. 2,000 per applicant in exchange for providing faster processing services at the passport office.
The FIA stated that during the operation, officials recovered passport tokens, evidence of financial transactions, bank challans, mobile phones, and screenshots of various visas and national identity cards from the possession of the suspects.
The FIA spokesperson said that a case has been registered against the arrested individuals, while further legal proceedings and investigation are underway.
