Islamabad (HRNW): The National Highway Authority (NHA) has officially issued new nationwide commercial contracts for various toll plazas across the country’s highway networks, valid until June 30, 2027. The competitive bidding process generated substantial revenue, with private logistics and management firms securing contracts worth hundreds of millions of rupees.
Record Inflows and Successful Contract Allocations
According to NHA officials, the highest and most competitive revenue yielded during the open auction was for the Sangjani N-5 Toll Plaza, which was leased to a private company for a record-breaking bid of PKR 134.8 million.
The fiscal evaluation of the auction further highlighted other major commercial acquisitions:

The Phrongar Toll Plaza contract was successfully auctioned.

The Ranipur Toll Plaza contract was awarded.

Both facilities fetched successful bids exceeding PKR 120 million each.
Commitment to Fiscal Transparency and Non-Conclusive Auctions
The NHA administration emphasized that the entire auctioning framework was carried out in a strictly transparent, public, and legally sound manner, aimed at maximizing the generation of legitimate revenue for the national exchequer.
However, the authority disclosed that the bidding remained inconclusive for a few key geographical points due to a lack of viable or financially compliant offers that met the state’s baseline threshold. The toll plazas with inconclusive bids include:

Consequent to the lack of effective bids for these specific stations, the NHA is expected to issue a revised, secondary auction schedule in the near future to re-allocate these operational routes.
