KARACHI (HRNW): The Sindh Government has announced a decisive crackdown on cheating and malpractice during Matriculation and Intermediate Board examinations by implementing a strict “Zero Tolerance” policy. The announcement was made in a joint statement by the Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Ismail Rahoo, and the Provincial Minister for Education, Sardar Shah.
Severe Penalties for Students:
Under the new policy, the provincial ministers emphasized that cheating will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Students found guilty of using unfair means will face life-altering consequences, including:

Immediate Cancellation: All examination papers of the student involved will be declared null and void.

Permanent Ban: Violators will be permanently debarred from appearing in any future board examinations within the province.
Action Against Complicit Staff:
The government has also warned examination staff and administration of severe repercussions if found facilitating malpractice. The official notification states that:

Strict Disciplinary Action: Any invigilator, internal or external examiner, or administrative officer found aiding cheating will face immediate departmental inquiry.

Termination of Service: Those proven complicit in exam malpractice could face dismissal from their government jobs.
Ensuring Academic Integrity:
Ministers Ismail Rahoo and Sardar Shah stated that these measures are essential to restore the credibility of the examination system and ensure that merit prevails. Security at examination centers is expected to be heightened to monitor and prevent the use of mobile phones and other unauthorized materials.
