Pakistan Federal Government Announces Key Military and Civil Appointments Across Departments and Embassies

Islamabad (HRNW)- The federal government has announced major appointments of senior military and civil officers in various departments, embassies, and institutions. These appointments include both serving and retired officers, aiming to strengthen institutional capacity and bring reforms.

Key appointments include:

  • Major General (retd) Azhar Mahmood Kayani – Health Advisor to Maryam Nawaz

  • Lieutenant General (retd) Nazir Ahmed Butt – Chairman NAB

  • General (retd) Moazzam Ijaz – Chairman National Technology Council (4-year term)

  • Lieutenant General Muhammad Amir – Pakistan Ambassador to UAE

  • Major General Farhat Abbasi – Ambassador to Brunei

  • Major General Akhtar Jail Rao – Ambassador to Bosnia

  • Major General Sajjad Ali Khan – Ambassador to Jordan

  • Vice Admiral Athar Mukhtar – Ambassador to Maldives

  • Major General Tayyip Azam – Ambassador to Nigeria

  • Major General Umar Farooq Burki – Ambassador to Sri Lanka

  • Air Marshal Shahid Akhtar Alvi – Ambassador to Syria

  • Major General Israel Khokhar – Ambassador to Ukraine

Other senior positions were filled in NADRA, WAPDA, PTI, Fauji Foundation, Air University, Punjab Public Service Commission, Highway Authority, and federal secretariats.

The government emphasized that these appointments aim to utilize the expertise of military and civil officers to improve governance, efficiency, and institutional reforms in Pakistan.
